2014 was a record-breaking year for the Tech4Good Awards. We received over 200 nominations across seven Award categories, and when voting for the People’s Award closed we counted a staggering 20,000 votes across the website and social media. This year we’re hoping to beat these numbers.
We’re looking forward to hearing even more inspiring stories of how individuals, young and old, organisations, charities, councils, schools, big businesses and volunteers are changing the way we think, use and approach technology, ensuring inclusion in their local community, the UK and the developing world.
This year we’re particularly interested in start-ups. Whether you know a business, charity or social enterprise in its early stages, or a much larger organisation that’s built its reputation from the ground up – nominate them in one of our seven Award categories and celebrate their hard work, boost their profile and raise awareness of how they’re using technology for good.
Here are this year’s seven Tech4Good Award categories:
- Accessibility Award
- BT Ingenious Award
- Community Impact Award
- Digital Health Award
- Digital Skills Award
- IT Volunteer of the Year Award
- Youth Award
We’ll also be giving out three more Awards later in the year:
- Judge’s Award
- People’s Award
- Winner of Winners Award
Remember, you can nominate yourself for any of these Award categories. Tell your friends, family and colleagues to nominate you – and ask them to do the same!
So, now’s the time to get thinking. We’ll be opening the nominations period on 4 March at a special event at BT Tower. Follow us on Twitter at @Tech4GoodAwards, tell us who you’ll be nominating, spread the word and track the hashtag #Tech4GoodAwards to find out what 2014’s winners have been up to since last year.
Nominations for the Tech4Good Awards 2015 will open at 9am on Wednesday 4th March, and will close at 5pm on Friday 8th May.
