Meet the Judges: Chris Bilton and Anna Easton, BT
Uncategorized
Our panel of judges have been carefully selected for their expert knowledge across the fields of technology, innovation, charity and inclusion. They lead some of the biggest technology companies in the world, they’re passionate about tech4good – and they read every single entry that comes in for the AbilityNet Tech4Good Awards.
This year we’re joined by Anna Easton, Director of Sustainable Business for BT Group, and Chris Bilton, Director of Research & Technology. BT’s aim is to bring the benefits of a connected society to everyone, which includes helping 10 million socially disadvantaged people get access to better healthcare, learning or employment opportunities by 2020. It also means helping BT’s customers cut their carbon emissions by at least three times their own carbon impact by 2020.
Chris leads and manages BTs Global Research organisation, working with key partners, start-ups and universities globally to ensure successful downstreaming of research innovations and delivery of tangible business benefits to BT. It’s his first year on the judging panel:
“I’m really looking forward to hearing more about the new, innovative digital technology that’s making a bigger difference and also rewarding some of the best uses.”
Anna owns the strategy and plan for achieving BT’s ambitions, advising the Chairman, Board and Operating Committee on trends and strategy, as well as directing BT’s resources in this area. Here’s what she’s looking for in a winning entry in the AbilityNet Tech4Good Awards 2016:
“I’m looking for innovative, and potentially scalable, examples of technology being used to tackle today’s social challenges.”
Visit our Meet the Judges page to find out more about Anna Easton and our panel of judges, and tell them how you’re using technology to make the world a better place by entering Tech4Good Awards 2016.
Entry closes Friday 6th May at 5pm.
