Mau Creative Hub: Bridging Africa’s Digital Divide
2026, Finalist, Young Pioneer Award
Mau Creative Hub stands out for turning digital opportunity into something practical for young people who are often locked out of tech careers. By already supporting over 100 learners and showing clear potential to reach thousands more across Africa, it combines grassroots delivery with real scope to scale.
Mau Creative Hub is helping close the digital skills gap for young people in underserved communities in Nigeria. It delivers beginner-friendly training in UI/UX design, web development, data analytics, AI and digital tools, shaped for learners with limited resources, low-end devices and little prior experience. So far, the hub has directly engaged over 100 young people through workshops, mentoring and project-based learning. Learners have gone on to build portfolio websites, design projects, dashboards and other digital work that improves both confidence and employability. The programme is also creating a more inclusive route into tech for women, students from low-income backgrounds and aspiring digital creators who might otherwise be excluded. Mau Creative Hub does more than teach technical skills. It helps people build confidence, solve problems and see a future in the digital economy. With more support, it has the potential to reach thousands more young people across Africa.
