Messenger Pigeon addresses a widespread and growing support gap in higher education. With more than 35,000 students reached across 350 institutions, it shows how AI can deliver practical study support at a scale universities struggle to match manually.

Messenger Pigeon is tackling a persistent gap in higher education support. Around 1 in 5 UK students and 17% of students in the US report a disability, yet only 34% of disabled students say their support needs are adequately met. Universities spend heavily on reactive adjustments such as note-taking and tutoring, but many students still struggle with how to study, manage information and stay on track. Messenger Pigeon responds with an AI-powered study assistant designed to build genuine study skills in a way that adapts to disability, learning style and lifestyle. The reach is already strong. It has supported more than 35,000 students across 350 higher education institutions in the UK and North America. Despite high levels of anxiety and concentration challenges among users, 65% rated its AI tools as helpful to their studies. Independent testing at the University of Southampton found Messenger Pigeon outperformed the institution’s existing solution across study efficiency, interface clarity and ease of navigation. This gives institutions a more scalable and affordable way to support students who would otherwise struggle to access the help they need.
