Transreport: Passenger Assistance, the operating system for assisted travel
2026, Accessibility Award, Finalist

Transreport stands out because it improves accessibility by changing the system, not just the journey. Supporting more than 10 million assisted trips already, it shows how better infrastructure can unlock confidence and mobility at national scale.
Transreport is solving a systemic problem in transport. Millions of disabled people, older passengers and others with access needs still face uncertainty because assistance is fragmented, inconsistent and often managed through manual processes. Around 90% of disabled people experience barriers on public transport, and 81% report difficulty travelling. Transreport’s Passenger Assistance platform creates shared infrastructure that lets passengers communicate their needs once and helps operators deliver support more reliably. The impact is already substantial. The system has supported more than 10 million assisted journeys for over 1.8 million passengers across thousands of locations. Customer satisfaction has risen from 85% to over 95%. For operators, it has cut booking costs by up to 61%, reduced phone bookings from 80% to 37%, and enabled a 114% increase in assistance demand without extra resources. This means more people can travel with confidence, more journeys actually happen, and transport providers can deliver accessibility in a way that is both operationally effective and genuinely useful.
